Egan makes generous donation to Minnesota Military Family Foundation

Brooklyn Park, Minn.—Brig. Gen. Jon Trost accepted a donation on behalf of the Minnesota Military Family Foundation from Egan Companies Jan. 23 at Egan Companies Headquarters in Brooklyn Park, Minn. Employees of Egan pooled money donations together over the holiday season and researched the best way to contribute the money. After accumulating a total of $7,500, the Egan Companies employees agreed the Minnesota Military Family Foundation would be the best allocation of the money. "We thought, given the state of the country—with the war going on, this would be a worthwhile cause to give to," said Bill John, a director with Egan. The donation comes at a time when the Minnesota National Guard's 1st Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division's tour of duty in Iraq was recently extended for a period of four extra months 'boots on the ground.' "It's in the philanthropic endeavors of the Egan Companies and their desire to support the Minnesota National Guard Soldiers and Airmen, and also all the other branches in Minnesota, which the foundation supports," said Brig. Gen. Jon Trost. The Minnesota Military Family Foundation is a fund that assists military families in Minnesota who have encountered financial hardships due to a deployment of a main provider in the home. Egan Companies is a Minnesota-based contracting company that specializes in construction projects for company facilities. By Cpl. Joe Roos, Minnesota National Guard Public Affairs 1/23/07
